We not only meet expectations, we go beyond them.
I wanted to take the time to commend Reko Tool on yet another job well done! We all hear about it when something is wrong but I intend to build on and acknowledge the positive. Shawn Spence has set the bar in what is expected from a Program Manager.
We were already behind the 8 ball when we kicked off the GMX 001 A-Pillar program. Reko adjusted timing from original quoted timing of 14 weeks to 10 weeks. This meant the task at hand had no room for error but it was driven at such a high level of intensity with great attention to cover every detail with the following being the out come.
- We beat our first shots date on all of the tools involved by as much as a week.
- We got approval to grain from first shot parts off of all tools.
- We met customer key event dates that were going to be missed due to late kick off.
When Shawn passed the baton to Jack Goncalves it was transparent, Jack was able to jump right in and run with it.
The molds arrived at Continental Plastics and we ran post grain shots successfully.
The support that we received from Chris Gassel was much appreciated. Although this program was not too complex for someone of his caliber, Chris will be good to have around when we get into the tough stuff.
The books that arrived with the molds caught a lot of attention. one book went to the plant and one to engineering
The books contained every detail of the mold history, prints, a CD of cad filed, wiring…
This is definitely what I call the WOW FACTOR good job Shawn!
We are looking at making this part of our standard here at Continental.

Subject Machine has been in service in our plant for approximately 2 years. Installation and set-up was performed by Reko. Certified Fabricators, Inc. has been using your Reko “Medve” Model 3200 and Models 6400 Gantry Milling Machines since June of 1997. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know how much these machines have not only increased our production, but also how accurate they are compared to the existing horizontal milling machines we have been using for years at our facility.
CFI laser calibrates all of our CNC machines on a semiannual basis. We calibrated the Reko’s and they passed the 0.005 volumetric requirements needed for Boeing tolerance approval. They have maintained these tolerances without fail.
All of the parts machined on these machines get laser tracked for inspection accuracy. Every part that has been checked is 100% accurate.
The feature that is most important on the Reko machines is the “Z” stroke (72”). This stroke is uncommon in most gantry’s and affords us the opportunity to machine parts and tools that would normally be machined on our horizontals at a much slower cutting speed.
We have found that the construction of your equipment is so rigid that we get no movement in the bridge or ram, which enables us to control any tolerance.
After you installed these machines, we have not experienced any maintenance problems. They have been completely trouble free. We experienced a “Z” axis motor problem shortly after installation and called explaining the problem. The very next day, your serviceman was at our facility, replaced the motor and we were back in production by noon. We do not receive that kind of service from our local service personnel.
The other outstanding feature of Reko Corporation is the outstanding service crew you employ for installation. These machines were delivered, set-up and running within a 2-3 week period. The crew of mechanics are very professional and knowledgeable and assist our operators with start up which eliminates any problems up front.
We have a fourth machine being installed this week and it is your “Medve” 8700 E which is 342” X axis, 144” Y axis, 72” Z axis and 120” under rail. You have stated that this will also be up and running within 2-3 weeks. This is incredible.
Thank you for improving our manufacturing lead times. We recommend your equipment to anyone that has the need to become a world class leader in machining.

Program Performance on the China Buick Regal & Century Program
The purpose of this letter is to compliment Reko Tool & Mould on a job very well done. I would personally like to thank all of the people involved on the China Buick Regal & Century Program from the mold design to the final handwork. Reko has definitely proven to myself, with this program, their talents are of the highest quality, while maintaining the end delivery date.
During my visits to Reko, I have found the employee’s to be very outgoing and helpful when responding to questions. I felt the shop floor employee’s are very knowledgeable about the molds and there progress, along with the location of the mold
And it’s scheduled timing for certain machining/processes. Reko Tool & Mould, I feel has a good workflow system in place that can deliver and has delivered quality tools early on the China Buick Regal & Century Program.

We prefer to do the projects internally because we can ensure our needs are completely met. On occasion, due to resource conflicts or time constraints, we are forced to use outside sources. This usually result in a piece of equipment that functions, but is not exactly what we had intended. Fortunately, this was not the case on this project.
